Canaanland adds 40 Electric Buses to Its Transport Fleet.

Faith Tabernacle has added 40 new electric buses to its transport fleet at Canaanland, Ota, as Living Faith Church Worldwide expands its transportation arrangements for worshippers and visitors. The red buses, branded “CANAANLAND” and marked “PURE ELECTRIC BUS,” reportedly arrived from China in September.

The new vehicles come amid the church’s broader expansion of its transport operations. Reports indicate the 40 electric buses are separate from another batch of 115 buses acquired earlier, with the church’s total vehicle acquisitions reportedly exceeding 200 within a year.

The addition also highlights the growing role electric vehicles can play in organised passenger transport. Unlike conventional petrol or diesel buses, battery-electric buses do not produce exhaust emissions while driving. Their wider environmental benefits, however, depend partly on how the electricity used to charge them is generated.

For Canaanland, the immediate objective is to improve transportation for members travelling to and from church activities. The development comes as the church prepares for increased activity around its new auditorium, The Ark, which has been reported to accommodate approximately 109,000 people.

Nevertheless, the acquisition offers a notable example of electric mobility being introduced into a large institutional transport fleet in Nigeria. As more organisations explore alternatives to conventional vehicles, the practical questions will include charging access, operating costs, vehicle utilisation, and the reliability of the electricity supply.
